Research and Education
Our goal is to train new generations of scientists and conservationists in disciplines such as biology, ecology, chemistry, engineering, natural resource management, and naturalist guiding. The future of the planet’s richest terrestrial ecosystems depends on them.
For this reason, we have implemented programs, courses, and workshops at our Biological Stations, in Indigenous communities, protected areas, and decentralized offices. Over the past 20 years, we have awarded more than 260 scholarships, thanks to the support and collaboration of partner organizations such as the Moore Blue Moon, ICFC, Erol and Franzen Foundations, which are committed to training future decision-makers.
Scholarships for our projects are announced at different times throughout the year. Since 2015, we have also participated in the Carlos Ponce del Prado Conservation Award ceremony, where we announce the recipients of these important scholarships awarded by Conservación Amazónica.

This is a unique opportunity for Peruvian women interested in field conservation. Each year, eight selected fellows benefit from hands-on training, mentoring, and field experience through this intensive program.
Participants engage in projects such as the Andean bear conservation program and community initiatives including reforestation. In addition to building skills and knowledge, the program establishes a strong alumni mentorship network. Through this holistic initiative, participants gain the skills necessary to build successful careers in conservation, generating a positive impact on local communities and surrounding biodiversity.
The scholarship, funded by International Conservation Fund of Canada (ICFC) and developed at the stations of Conservación Amazónica – ACCA, trains selected groups of Latin American students.
By building multidisciplinary teams and guiding them through a rigorous, long-term field program, we empower exceptional individuals to reach their full potential. This approach strengthens conservation capacity in the region and provides participants with the tools to pursue careers in field conservation while building a growing alumni network capable of mentoring and training others.
This annual scholarship program promotes scientific research and capacity-building among Peruvian students and young professionals interested in biodiversity, ecology, and climate change research at our Biological Stations located in the Manu Biosphere Reserve.
This scholarship is awarded within the framework of the Carlos Ponce del Prado Conservation Awards.
