WE CONSERVE WITH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
We conserve the Amazon forest through the application of advanced science and technology. We operate a network of world-class Conservation Hubs where we conduct cutting-edge scientific research and test innovative technologies.
We use tools such as acoustic monitoring, camera traps, and environmental DNA analysis to strengthen biodiversity and ecological health monitoring. Additionally, we combine satellite technology with other tools, such as drones, to provide local communities and park rangers with the resources they need to protect their territories.
We establish comprehensive real-time monitoring systems to detect and address threats, and conduct scientific research to better understand the effects of climate change and support informed conservation decisions. Our innovative approach drives us to advance the field of conservation and promote effective actions to protect our ecosystems.
We use advanced technology to monitor, understand, and take evidence-based action regarding forest dynamics and the ways in which human activities impact specific natural areas we identify.
AmazonTEC is our annual platform that brings together representatives of Indigenous communities, civil society, local, regional, national authorities, as well as international cooperation organizations, to share experiences and develop technological solutions that comprehensively protect Amazon forests.
The Radar Gold Mining Monitoring platform, known as RAMI, is a satellite monitoring tool designed with NASA geospatial technology. Its main objective is to generate near real-time information on deforestation and mining activity in the southern Peruvian Amazon.
The SERVIR-Amazonia Program is part of SERVIR Global, a joint initiative between NASA and USAID, which promotes geospatial technologies and the co-development of services based on Earth observation satellite data to support decision-making.
The app "Amazon Real-Time Fire Monitoring" allows users to monitor emissions from forest fires and burning that occur daily in the atmosphere.
This project developed complementary actions to strengthen the control and surveillance system of the Amarakaeri Communal Reserve (RCA) and its Buffer Zone (BZ) through the use of high-performance drone technology.
The Biological Station Technology Consortium Los Amigos has projects by leading scientists, where the most innovative auditory and visual technologies are used to detect illegal activities and monitor biodiversity.
