For more than 20 years, we have worked alongside regional governments and local communities to protect critical Andean-Amazonian ecosystems in southern Peru. Our approach combines strengthening conservation areas with direct threat mitigation, ensuring landscape connectivity for species.
We Protect Natural Areas
We have conserved 750,000 hectares along an altitudinal gradient ranging from the Ausangate mountain range to the Amazon lowlands through Communal Reserves, Regional Conservation Areas, and Private Conservation Areas. In collaboration with local communities and partners, we have helped create a conservation corridor spanning more than 1 million hectares, promoting ecological connectivity.

We provide technical and financial support to Protected Natural Areas (ANP), promoting sustainable livelihoods, and reducing environmental impacts in surrounding areas. Working alongside the State and local stakeholders, we support planning, monitoring, and strengthened management of ANPs.

We focus on protecting 4 million hectares of Indigenous Reserves and contribute to a 7 million-hectare biocultural corridor. We strengthen neighboring community capacities and collaborate with the Ministry of Culture to safeguard this natural and cultural heritage.

We have implemented successful restoration pilots in Japu and Ausangate, recovering 15 hectares of degraded ecosystems, with plans to scale up. Additionally, we have reforested 380 hectares of degraded high-Andean forests, restoring biodiversity and protecting ecosystem services.

The Los Amigos Conservation Concession is a biodiversity laboratory in Madre de Dios, located along the Madre de Dios and Los Amigos rivers. Here, we apply innovative technologies to conserve the Amazon rainforest. Its strategic location provides a unique perspective on conservation and sustainability.
